How to Use OverSite

How to Navigate to OverSite and Claim a Site

To navigate to OverSite, start by clicking the OverSite Tab from the main navigation bar at the top of the screen. Then, search for your site by name from the search bar and select it. From the site pop-up, click the "Click here to claim" button.


This will open the Overview Page, which displays a Site Map showing the real-time geolocation of all technicians currently on site.

Overview Page

The Overview Page allows Site Managers to edit the Site Map and view technician geolocations for safety monitoring. This document will provide a walkthrough of each section on the Overview Page.


The dashboard at the far left of the screen provides a list of all features on the site, such as all of the inverters. Click a feature to view its location on the Site Map.

After selecting a feature, click the paper/pen icon to edit any of the associated metadata, if needed. See the video below for a demonstration:

The Site Map itself can be updated with new lines, polygons, and waypoints by using the buttons at the top right of the site map. Draw the new feature on the map, give it a name, and select the feature type. See the video below for a demonstration:

Lastly, the Overview Tab also provides a list of all technicians that have checked in to the Site.


Contacts Page

The Contacts Page contains a repository of all Site Contacts such as Site Managers or local first-responders. To create a new contact, click the "+ New Contact" button near the top right of the page and fill out the New Contact Form.

All Contacts will be publicly visible on the DSPTCH Mobile App for safety purposes.


Resources Page

The Resources Tab is a repository for all of the safety documents related to the site, such as an Emergency Response Plan.


To add a new resource, click the "+ New Resource" button at the top right of the screen.


This will open the New Resource Form (pictured below):

There are several fields within the New Resource Form:

  • Name (Required):
    • The name of the Resource that will display on DSPTCH.
  • Type (Required):
    • Dropdown select from Certifications, Checklist, Dol Communication, Map, Onsite Poster, Other, Photo, or Pwa Documentation.
  • Description (Optional):
    • A textual description for the Resource.
  • Upload File or Provided URL (Required):
    • File upload or URL link for the Resource.
  • Tags (Optional):
    • Descriptors for the Resource that can be used in the search bar (think of these like hashtags).

All Resources will be publicly visible on the DSPTCH Mobile App for safety purposes.

Alerts Page

The Alerts Page allows Site Managers to send emergency alerts to all technicians on site. The list on the page will show a log of all past Alerts and the Manager who sent them (pictured below):

To create an Alert, click the "+ New Site Alert" button at the top right of the page to open the New Site Alert Form (pictured below):

There are two fields within the New Site Alert Form:

  • Message (Required):
    • The message that will be sent to all technicians on site.
  • Delivery Method (Required):
    • Dropdown select for SMS notification or Push Notification from the DSPTCH Mobile app.

Owner Map

The Owner Map shows the traditional DSPTCH Map, but with only sites displayed by your Company.


Scroll around the Owner Map to explore and view your Sites.
