Apprenticeships: Non-Time Card Allocations

Table of Contents

Background & Motivation

A non-time card allocation allows you to record an apprentice’s prior experience from hours that were not logged in DSPTCH. For example, if an apprentice begins work on a DSPTCH-tracked project but has already accumulated 2,000 hours of experience, those hours can be added using a non-time card allocation.

Adding this allocation ensures that DSPTCH can accurately track the apprentice’s wage progression schedule going forward.

How to Create a Non-Time Card Allocation

Start by clicking the "Apprenticeships" tab from the primary navigation bar at the top of the page. Then, click the "Apprentices" tab from the sub-navigation bar near the top of the page. From there, click the apprentice who will be receiving the non-time card allocation.

From the apprentice's profile, click the "View Allocations" button. Then, click the "Non-Time Card Allocations" field. Next, click the "+ New Allocation" button. Lastly, enter the number of hours/minutes for the allocation, select the work process category, and click the "Save" button.

A green box with a success message reading "Allocation was successfully created" will appear at the bottom of the screen to indicate that the non-time card allocation was successfully created. The apprentice's wage progression schedule progress bar at the top of the subsequent paeg will now reflect the hours from the non-time card allocation.
